013 | [Situation] In Glentress Forest A small cottage, one storey high, beautifully situated amidst dense masses of luxuriant pine and forest trees, in the Southern extremity of Glentress Forest, about two and a half miles north East of Peebles. When seen from the road approaching Horsburgh Castle it forms a pleasing feature in this beautiful landscape. It is the property of Sir Adam Hay, and appears to have been built for the accommodation of the Forester. It is at present unoccupied. There is a small garden adjoining. |
