[Baronet] Very pleasantly Situated, and surrounded by Woods of Considerable extent, and Commands a fine View of the adjacent Country. The offices, which are very Commodious, Stand a Short distance South from the Mansion. Near the offices is the Garden which is Very tastefully laid out as are also the pleasure Grounds, in the latter Stands the Remains of the Old Parish Church and Graveyard. The portion of the pleasure called Castle Hill, adjoining the Mansion is Ornamented by several flower beds, and Groups of Evergreens. It is the property & Residence of Sir W.G. Carmichael Bart. [Baronet] The schoolmaster, & Grieve, say that it is always written two words. The Plans & Title deeds etc are with the Factor at No. 5 Thistle Street Edinburgh |
