009 | [Situation] About a mile S W. [South West] of Darn Hall. This object consists at present of a circular mound of earth about 70 feet in diameter and about 6 feet above the level of the surrounding surface of the land Mr Craig the Occupier of the ground says that about 30 years ago it consisted principally of a large heap of stones particularly the upper part of it which was was then removed to build fences but presents, at present, the appearance of a tumulus, whether any remains were found when the stones were removed from the upper part of it could not be ascertained. |
