It is protected from the sea on the south by Lamb Ness and the south end of the Old Pier, and is sufficiently deep at full of half tide to admit a middling large fishing boat but as there are no dwellings convenient it has probably never been used since the Picts left their rude dwelling adjacent to it and situated on the neck of Lamb Ness |
