Mr. William Johnson farmer Seatter carried away the remaining part of this mound a few years ago for the purpose of manuring other parts of the farm It is situated about 1/4 mile south east of Seatter and a short distance N. of the beach of Loch of Stenness upon the property of Mrs. Watt of Kierfiold Prior to its removal it presented the appearance of a green mound, It consisted chiefly of ashes, burnt stones & black unctuous earth intermixed in about equal proportions, |
