073 | Aa low rocky Headland Situated at the north East end of North Ronaldshay & at the South east end of Dennis Ness. On this headland there is a Cylindrical tower of masonry 70 feet high, originally a lighthouse, it having been erected for that purpose in 1789. & discontinued in 1809. A new lighthouse has been built on a small eminence at the north east part of Dennis Ness, about 1/2 mile from this beacon. |
