001 | A commodious mansion a little to the south-west of Lodgehill East which it resembles in many respects. It is three storeys high & also is in excellent condition & has a farm steading, consisting of dwelling house & offices attached, which bears the same name - property of Trustees for Messrs. Cant. of whom Mr McDougal is principal. Great difficulty was experienced in determining how the above mansions should be distinguished owing to both proprietors claiming the right to designate each by the general name of "Lodgehill" only - It however has been arranged by the parties interested to distinguish them by prefixing "East" & "west" to "Lodgehill" & thereby avoid further ambiguity. (They are not in favour of the prefixes preceding "Lodgehill" but placed as on traces |

Ordnance Survey - Nairn county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Nairn, which is in the north east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
