Andrew Garrand, Schoolmaster William White, Ruchazie School John Haig Springburn School |
007.09 | This School is one of four - Anderston, Maryhill, Shettleston & Ruchazie, supported by the Heritors of the whole of the original Barony Parish. On the disjunction of this & the other Parishes from the Barony Parish of Glasgow, no alterations respecting these schools were made. They are therefore, as formerly, Parochial Schools of Barony, but within the newly erected Parishes. The Schoolmasters are appointed from the Barony Ph [Parish] Church meetings of the Heritors, & the sum allowed for these schools is so arranged, that if the three other schools were without Teachers, the remaining Teacher employed, would receive the salary of the whole. This school from being in Shettleston, is commonly called the Ph [Parish] School, although the one at Ruchazie is similarly supported. The Barony Heritors erected this & now pay a feu duty of £6. 10s per annum. |

Ordnance Survey - Lanark county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Lanark, which is in the west of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
