Forest's Co: [County] Map Johnston's Co: [County] Map New Statistical Account A. Jackson, Blantyre Park |
017.03 | A Burn which rises on the Farm of Blantyre Park, & bears this name from flowing through a bed of Red Sandstone, which commences about the Mineral Well, 017.02 Trace 3, & extends as far as the quarry on the north side of the Parish Road which crosses this Burn. The name by which this Burn generally goes, in this Parish, is "Park Burn", With the exception of the last Authority, there has not been any one found in the Parish, who identifies the Burn, at any part, as "Red Burn". Park Burn would better apply to the whole extent of the Burn as it appears that, however well it may have been known, it is now almost obsolete. |

Ordnance Survey - Lanark county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Lanark, which is in the west of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
