Church on the ruins of "St Brides Church" ( in German text) The ancient Church of Kilbride was dedicated to St. Brigid and which was dedicated to St. Bridget and thence named Cil. Brighid which is pronounced Kilbride, and signifies the church of St. Bride" ---- The Parish Church was built in 1774 when the part of the old church which supported the belfry was allowed to remain, and now the purpose of a steeple.
