Transcriber's notes
It may be 3 rather than 8 tenements but the symbol is significantly different from the other entry on this page which is more clearly a 3.
There is a crossed out entry for "Burnbank Pit". The spelling authority is accredited to Messrs Rankin, Wylie and Stewart and the description reads
"An Iron & Limestone Pit
worked by steam. and
the property of Coltness Iron Co:"
Another crossed out entry for "Burnbank Quarry" . same three authorities and description
"A large opencast Ironstone
Quarry. property of the
Coltness Iron Co."

Ordnance Survey - Lanark county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Lanark, which is in the west of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
