036 | [Situation] In the SE. [South East] side of the Parish of Minnigaff and at the north corner of the Parish of Kirkmabreck The largest as well as the highest Mountain in the locality, situate in the Parishes of Kirkmabrick &. Minnigaff, and on the farms of Cule. Bardroughat. Bargally &. Little Cullendock. Its surface consists wholly of Granite partially covered with Heath on its summit there is a Plain of considerable extent with lep heath and more soil & herbage than upon its side, its top also commands an extensive view of many counties in Scotland (the Isle of man, Ailsa Craig) and a part of England &. Ireland. This mountain was found by the engineers employed by Government many years ago, to be 2222 feet above the level of the sea. On this Mountain are two ancient Cairns, which Andrew Rennie says that it is handed down by Tradition that in one of which human Bones was found |
