054 | The ruins of an old Church Surrounded by a wall in good repair which encloses a Grave yard still in use as a burial place by old residents in the Locality adjoining to the ruins on the South side is the Cemetery of the Gordons of Earlstone, Cadets of the noble family of Lochinvar inside on the wall which Surrounds it is a marble Tablet Surrounded by beautiful drapery. The Tablet bears the following inscription, "Sacred to the Menory of Juliana J Gallimore Spouse of Sir John Gordon of Earlston Baronet who died at Senwick House 13th February aged 42 years, - She was blest with a benevolent heart And an Honourable Mind and was to her husband a Sincere affectionate Wife, I left this world without a tear Save for the friend I held So dear To heal his Sorrows Lord descend An to the afflicted prove a friend Continued in adjoining Sheet ᴓ [Continued on page 75] |
