Balmangan Glen
Balmangan Glen--Glen--A deep Glen or Ravine through which runs Balmangan Burn. Fir and other trees chiefly the former are interspersed forming a beautiful picturesque scenery. The North precipice is rather rocky on which the trees planted are more abundant than South precipice, the latter being less rugged and tress chiefly on the top. The road passing by the Glen is cut through rocks and the North side is a rocky precipice about 12 ft. [feet] high on the average with fir trees planted on the top, the whole adding to the romantic appearance of the Glen.--Rerwick [Rerrick]--David Kissock
