Dundrennan Mill--Corn Mill--A Corn Mill in the Village of Auchencairn which is said to have been built about the time that Dundrennan Abbey was erected and unto which property it belonged I am informed that it has been three times erected on the Same foundations It has been a Mill enjoying peculiar privilegs Such as Multure, Thirlage, and a Charter by which the Miller can prevent any person from leading away a portion of the stream so as to affect the power of his Mill, by the Said Charter he his entitled to a clear space of 4 feet along the banks of the stream and the stream is held from its source to the Mill. It is now the property of Colonel Maxwell and occupied by John Hannay--Rerwick [Rerrick]--John Hannay
