| Fort | (Fort) (Fort) |
William Thompson Mains of Collin Dr. Trotter Auchencairn |
This is said by my authorities to be an ancient fort (and they suppose a British one). It is a circular object having a small circle of stones and earth surrounding it the circle is not raised higher than a foot is any part and the centre of the fort is the general surface and never was raised. consequently it cannot be called a Moat as has been written on trace no fosse or embankment was ever here save the stone circle.
| Cairn | (Cairn) (Cairn) |
William Thompson Mains of Collin Dr. Trotter Auchencairn |
This object presents the appearance of a small level circle which at one time may have been filled with Stones but which are now removed. the outer circle is a little raised which merely marks out its circumference. It is situated about 30 yards West of the fort described above.
