005 | [Situation] 1 Mile NW. by N. [North West by North] of Carsphairn Lane An ancient cairn on the farm of Holm of Daltallochan and situated a short distance West of the road that leads from Carsphairn to Dalmellington. "It is said that in removing some of these, Stones in the form of Coffins have been found containing human bones. One of the largest is not far from the church near the road leading to Dalmellington, on the farm of Holm of Daltallochan On the same farm and no great distance, are found large stones forming a "circle."" |
