Southend Parish -- Argyll

St. Columba's Chapel [notes]
"Before the year 1326 the church of St. Collomkill (dedicated to
Saint Columba) in Kyntire was granted to the Canons of Withern
by Patrick Makschillingis and Finlach his wife. In 1326 the grant was
confirmed by King Robert Bruce and in 1451 by King James II. The
Church stood on a sea terrace in the S.E. [South East] corner of the parish a 1/4 of a mile
from Keil house. Its walls are still nearly entire. It is seventy two
feet in length and only 15 in breadth". Origines Parochiales

"According to Mr Dobie the church is 73 feet in length & in breadth
over the walls 18 feet". Dobbies Perambulations.
