056 | A small island between high and low water mark immediately north of Port Ramsay village. - Mention is made in the old Statistical Account of a place of worship having been on Island Dreinich and Ramasa, but no information can now be obtained regarding them. "Buchanan, in his History of Scotland, asserts that in his time there were some remains of religious houses in the islands Dreinich and Ramasa, on the north side of Lismore". 056 | A small island a little to the north of Eilean Trenach, on the west coast of Lismore. Part of it has until very lately been cultivated. There is a narrow Channel separating it from Eilean Droineach, which drys at Low Water. "Buchanan in his History of Scotland, asserts that in his time, there were some remains of religious houses in the islands of Dreinich and Ramasa on the north side of Lismore". O.S.A. [Old Statistical Account] No trace now remains on this island of any building, except the ruins of a house near the south west end of the island which was merely a dwelling house and occupied until very recently. |
