086 | A small dwelling with offices &c. situated about 3 miles from the south end of the Island. From 1792 to 1822 it was used as a Roman Catholic College, & two Bishops who filled the office of Principal, John, and Angus Chisholm lie buried in the small enclosure at the back of the offices; On the Tombstone of Bishop John is the following inscription D.O.M. The dates in the inscription are calculated in the Roman way, by subtraction from Kalends, Nones and Ides, with some reservations:
John Chisholm was born on 12 Feb 1752, or pridie Idus Februariis MDCCLII, not as given here.
And he was consecrated bishop on 12 Feb 1792 - I have taken Nonis to mean 9th, but if it means Nones that would be 5 Feb.
