Camp
Camp [Note] The writer of the Statistical account has evidently let his enthusiusm get the better of his judgment, for after enquiry I find that the places named had no appearance of Camps, Forts nor Druidical Circles. Mr. Barclay of Hallgreen who removed two of the objects states they were nothing but the remains of Circular Sheep Folds, And the remaining Circle has not the slightest resemblance to a Camp or Druidical Circle. It is a small portion of Moor ground which was enclosed and planted by the Uncle of the present proprietor, as an experiment to see if Fir Wood would grow on the Hill. So its antiquity is something like "Oldbuck's Kairn of Kinprunes," as the proprietor, "Minds the bigging o't."

Ordnance Survey - Kincardine county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Kincardine, which is in the north east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
