keep the Peace and down
to the time when the rural police
was established, the custom
was continued of about half
a dozen men from Crathes
attending with Halberts at
the markets.
The custom is still
continued at the June Market
but the Halberts are now
decked with plumes and have
been for more than half a
century. At present there
are 10 markets in the year.

Ordnance Survey - Kincardine county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Kincardine, which is in the north east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
