029 | This name applies to the ruins of an old castle standing on the Southern Shore of Urquhart Bay, at a point of land called Strone Point. The waters of Loch Ness wash the base of the rock on which the Castle stands on the South, East and partly on the North sides. the Court yard is very rough and uneven on the North side, but partly level on the South. The principal tower or Citadel is Situate at the North East corner of the Court and is of a Square form, the height of the walls are about sixty feet and breadth about thirty-eight.
