It is encircled by two walls the lower one which is in good preservation extends from the cliff at the north east, round the west side and joins the cliff again at the south east side, of the fort. The upper wall only extends half way, in the same direction from the north east to the west side. The fort although best known by the name of Torr a' Dùn is sometimes called by the old people Caisteal Dùn Dèarn meaning the Castle on the top or Palm of the Hill |
