| Belford Hospital | Belford Hospital Continued |
"It is hereby specially provided and declared that no part or portion of the lands hereby conveyed, or of those to be afterwards acquired by my said Trustees, as after mentioned, shall ever be sold, burdened, mortgaged, impignorated, pledged, or applied for any purpose whatever; and that the whole rents and proceeds thereof shall be expended for the uses of the Hospital or Infirmary after mentioned, and not otherwise. Secondly, that whereas I am in course of building upon the said acre of ground an Hospital or Infirmary for that class of people, domiciled in one or other of said parishes of Kilmonivaig and Kilmallie, who are above receiving or taking parochial aid, but whose circumstances are such that they cannot afford to pay for medical assistance, and who shall meet with accidents, or become afflicted with fevers, or other diseases or maladies requiring frequent medical attendance, but who shall not be paupers or entitled to parochial board relief; and for the wives of poor shepherds in one or other of said two parishes, living at a distance, and about to be confined, who may be admitted gratuitously for the purpose of confinement and after treatment; Therefore I direct that my Trustees shall finish and furnish the said Hospital, if not done in my lifetime, and shall thereafter pay for the support and maintenance thereof for ever, including a Salary for a House Surgeon, wages of Housekeeper and others to be appointed or engaged by them; also for repairing and upholding of the building, grounds, and inclosure; and further, the expense of such reasonable supply of medicines to outdoor indigent patients of the above class, as they shall think proper." Ordnance Survey - Inverness county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Inverness, which is in the north of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
