The name is derived from the Gaelic words Druim as-sith which signifies the ridge of Dispeace or the Highling Ridge. This moor extends to the north as far as the Boundary between the parishes of Dores and Inverness and Bona at a belt of wood near the farmsteading of Essich, stretching from thence in an easterly direction along the south side of an extensive Fir plantation which, plantation bounds Leys Moor on the south. |
