001 | This name signifies "Monks Burying Place", and is situated on the south side of Fladda Chuain Island. It would be difficult now to determine without actually breaking up the ground, whether the particular spot pointed out as the burying place, ever was such, but it is traditionally known that the monks from the monastery of Saint Columba in the Isle of Skye, buried some of their deceased members at this place. The Island on which this burying place is situated, and the surrounding smaller Isles, are all the property of Captain Fraser. |

Ordnance Survey - Inverness county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Inverness, which is in the north of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
