006 | The principal Village in the parish. Situated on the north bank of the river Tyne and about half way between Haddington and Dunbar. It chiefly Consists of dwelling houses, and a considerable number of Shops and public houses There are also some flower and Corn mills on the river below the Bridge - there are two places of worship in the Village viz. a "Free Church", and a U.P. [United Presbyterian] Church. Also the Ph. [Parish] and Free Church Schools besides a female and two private Schools. The N.B. [North British] Railway passes Close to the Village. |
