008 | A parish being one of the smallest in Scotland, situated in the Northwest extremity of Haddingtonshire. It contains about 760 acres, and is about 2 1/2 miles long, and about one mile broad. It is bounded on the north by the Frith of Forth, On the east and south by the parish of Tranent and on the west by Inveresk in Edinburghshire. It is in the Presbytery of Haddington and Synod of Lothian & Tweeddale. Patron Sir G.G. Suttie Bart. [Baronet]. |
