006 | A beautiful & well built mansion of the ornamental Gothic Style of architecture 4 Storeys high and in good repair with suitable offices and an extensive and beautiful Domain also a Kitchen & ornamental garden. there is a splendid Specimen of hedges growing in and around the Domain planted with holly they are about 15 feet broad at the base and rise to a height of from 15 to 25 feet. This country is also greatly indebted to the 6th. Earl of Haddington for his exertions in planting trees So as to form plantations of considerable extent a thing that was hardly or ever attempted in this country before, and at this day the woods of Tynninghame forms a noble monument to his perseverance & success, proprietor & occupier the Earl of Haddington |
