[North by East] from Mayshiel A circle of Stones nine in number, on the South Side of the hill called "Ninestone Rig" It is traditionally believed that some treasure is secreted beneath these stones and various attempts have been made to discover it, all if which have been unsuccessful. Note. The above tradition concerning a treasure been deposited proves the object to be very ancient as a Similar tradition is often found connected with many ancient objects. |

The Nine Stones [Note] Every research has been made in the locality as to whether these stones were a "Druidical Circle" but no information could be obtained as to their origin. They are however of ancient date, and are supposed to have been placed in their present position to commemorate some particular event - while by some they are supposed to have been erected by the Druids
