Parish of Dirleton
51 The Old Manse
"The position of the church being at the western extremity of
the parish was found very inconvenient and by the subjoined
act of parliament of Date 23rd October 1612 it was ordered
to be removed to Dirleton. It appears however that the church only had been then removed the
manse & glebe still continuing at Gulane; for Mr McGhie in his Stat [Statistical] report of 1627 thus speaks
"Sicklyke he hath ane Manse and ane Gleib in Gulane a long myle from the Kirk of Dirleton.
Six years after this these also seem to have been transferred to Dirleton."
See Stat. Acct. of Edinbh. [Statistical Account of Edinburgh] parish of
Dirleton.

Ordnance Survey - East Lothian county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of East Lothian, which is in the east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
