015 | [Situation] Between Beechbank and Lady's Woods. A small river in Haddingtonshire which rises in the Lammermuir Hills at the Southern boundary of the parish of Garvald. It is formed by the confluence of several small streams which unite a little to the North of Hobgoblin Hall. At this point it takes the name of Gifford Water which it retains untill it enters another district. During its course it is Known by the names of the localities through which it passes. Its entire course is about 12 miles. It falls into the River Tyne about 1 1/2 miles above the town of Haddington. |
