Continued entries/extra info

[Page] 81
Co. [County] Forfar -- Tannadice Parish

[Note]
Mr. Jervise the able author of the " Memorials of Angus and Mearns"
in reply to a reference informs me that " There is nothing
but popular story to support the name of Quiech Castle
while we have proof documentary of the Castle of Shielhill
being near the Bridge of that name." -
As the remains are near "Shielhill Bridge" I
think it will be best to leave them unnamed on
the Plan.

Ordnance Survey - Angus county

Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Angus, which is in the east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
