028 | A bridge of 7 Arches spanning the North Esk River. It was erected in 1775. "Built by subscription to which the town of Montrose and the 2 adjacent counties contributed a large share. The work was first projected and a liberal sum directed to be given by Thomas Christie, Provost of Montrose. £800 was given by his Majesty out of the annexed estates" Sculptured on the end of the Bridge. |
