of a Castle, the last remains of which form the
back wall of a Cottar house & upon an
adjoining Knoll to the East, popular story
avers that the "lady fair" was burnt for the
Murder of Young "Reiden"

at the time, & a clue to
the tradition of the "lady fair"
having been burnt may be
found in the name "Burnt Hill"
to the East of the Castle of Fithie.
