014 | This Castle or tower has been about 30 feet square, A portion of it - parts of the North and South and the whole of the West end - still stand about 3 feet high and about 2½ feet in thickness. The remainder is only traceable. "It was occupied by the farmer down to 1772-3 when he found it so inconvenient, that he offered to bear the cost of a new house on the proprietor's agreeing to let him have the wood, iron &c. out of the old Castle..... and the work of destruction once begun, had only its limit in the complete annihilation of the stronghold.... and only a small portion of the foundations are now traceable" ...
