In the hollow ground, however, on the east side, a circular patch of from four to six yards in breadth was accidentally discovered some years ago in the middle of a gravel hillock and found to contain a quantity of black earth to the depth of 4 feet," The spot where this earth was found is shewn on trace and is supposed by the farmer to have been the remains of a burial ground, though no bones were found in it. |
