[South West] end of the town of Dundee A large, open, irregular space of ground skirting the margin of the Firth of Tay & situated at the South West of the town On its North side are several very elegant Villas with gardens attached & at the extreme West is situated Windsor Terrace, a handsome range of Houses. The Dundee & Perth Railway passes in front of the green on the S. [South] side along the line high water. The Green is used as a promenade & generally resorted to by the inhabitants for recreation &c. It is the joint property of the Town Council and the University of St. Andrews. |

The popular name of this object is Magdalene Green
but in many documents it is called Magdalene Yard, and
