It consists of a large house 3 or 4 Storeys high, with a large drying ground in front The interior of the building is divided into Suitable apartments for the inmates 29 in number who are kept fully employed & in strict seclusion & who are is some cases detained here for two years. The building was erected by Subscription and is partly endowed & partly supported by subscriptions &c It is under the patronage of Royalty & the management is vested in a Committee of Ladies.
