054 | [Situation] On the South Side of Broughty Ferry Road This name applies to an irregular group of houses on the south side of Broughty Ferry Road. There was at this place formerly a small port or bay where vessels of light tonnage could be moored to which the name then applied but since the construction of the Dunde & Arbroath Railway which enclosed this port it is gradually being filled up, and is now almost dry land, so the name applies now not to a port but to the site and land and houses adjoining and more particularly to the above[me]ntioned houses. |

Ordnance Survey - Angus county
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the county of Angus, which is in the east of Scotland. The boundaries of the county were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
