054 | [Situation] On the southern side of Bell Street A large & handsome building - in style somewhat after the Grecian Cast - situated in Euclid Crescent, on the South side of Bell Street and facing Reform Street. It was erected by public subscription in 1829 for public schools and contains besides several large & commodious rooms for the use of the pupils in the various branches of education, three lofty & well lighted halls for examinations, lectures &c. In front & rere of the building are large open spaces of ground railed & walled in & set apart for recreation - The pupils are instructed in the Classics, French & English, Reading, Writing Arithmetic & Book keeping &c. &c. & in connection with Govt.
