035 | [continued from page 17] [This name [Craig Braes] is often] applied to the Cottages on the road side between the extent East & West of the Braes. The "Rossie Cottages" upon the authorities quoted opposite are named from the one Estate, while the Braes derive their name from the older Estate of Craig. Both are well known names & are adopted to their separate objects. In the Valuation Roll the name Craig Braes is wrongly given to the cottages, which are never by people living in them. |
