Parish of Lundin 58 [page no.]
"To the South and east of Lundin House are erected three unwrought stones of a triangular form
"measuring Six yards above and as it is thought as much below ground, the solid content of each
"being 270 feet. The bear no traces of any figure or inscription. By some they are conjectured to be
"of Roman origin, by others to be gravestones of Danish chiefs who fought here & were conquered by
"Banquo and Macbeth; and by others perhaps with most probability to be Druidical remains.
"Ancient Sepulchres are found near them. They are of red Sandstone. Two pieces of the Same Species
"of Stone evidently belonging to each other were found some years ago a mile apart on the South
"of Largo estate." New Statistical Acct. [Account] of Fife. page 438
To the South of the house" (Lundin House) on the highway there are erected three high Stones Set
in a triangular form and uncut it is Said that Some ancient Sepulchres have been found near to this.
Mr.Maule thinks that they were erected after a battle with the Danes near to this. Sibbalds Hist. [History] of Fife. p.329.

Ordnance Survey - Fife and Kinross counties
Ordnance Survey was established in the 18th century to create maps, surveys and associated records for the entirety of Great Britain. These records are arranged by county. This entry has been created to enable searching for Ordnance Survey records for the counties of Fife in the east of Scotland and Kinross in central Scotland. The boundaries of these counties were altered by the Boundary Commissioners in 1891.
