Tullibole Castle continued, "There are two ancient houses in the parish , commonly distinguished by the name of castles, or towers; that of Tullibole, and that of Aldie (the latter is in Perthshire) they are both places of strength, or fortalices, with gun holes and turrets suitable to the times in which they were built. The castle of Tullibole was built in the year 1600?" Old Stat. Acct.
