019; 020 | [Situation] In the Eastern portion of the County of Fife. A Small parish in the south east angle of Fifeshire. Commonly Called the East Nook of Fife. It is bounded on the north by the parishes of Kingsbarns and Denino on the east and Southeast by the German Ocean, On the Southwest and South by the parishes of Kilrenny and Carnbee, It is of very irregular outline, varying in breadth from two furlongs to 2½ Miles, and stretching westward from Fifeness to a length of about 6½ Miles. This parish has the Royal burgh of Crail of which see descriptive Remarks for an adjoining name booK. It is in the Presbytery of St. Andrews and Synod of Fife. Patron the Earl of Glasgow. Within this Parish is a detached portion of the Ph. [Parish] of Kingsbarns. |
