This name comprehends the fields and woods inside of the outer Woods around Blairadam House which are generally retained in pasture and ornamented with isolated Trees. Here may be seen on the Sides and Summit of undulating ground the lofty silver fir towering over the other trees of the Forest producing a pleasing effect seldom to be found in Woodland Scenery. A little more than a century ago when William Adam Progenitor of the present proprietor purchased Blairadam, then Blair Crambeth, there was only one Tree on the estate which ever since has gone by the name of "The Tree". It is situated a little west of the masion house. |
