006 | [situation] About 3/4 of a mile N.W. [North West] of the Village of Logie. This is a farm steading with dwelling house and garden, situated at the base of Forret Hill. Further round the hill is Wester Forret, both farms are occupied by Mr. Alexander Matthew, and are the property of James Mc Kenzie, Forret. The old house of Forret stood where this steading is, part of the garden walls still remaining, and stones with dates and initials being built into the walls of the steading, 1686 being one of them. |
