005 | [situation] About 1/2 mile N.E. [North East] of the farm house of Belhelvie. A small plain building with a belfry at the West end, it has also a gallery in it; all in good repair. It is large enough to afford accommodation to about 150. the average number of communicants is about 75, the number of attendants is about 60. The Revd. [Reverend] Mr. Fisher is the minister his stipend is 10 chalders, 8 bolls of victual; and £37.2s.2d. in money. The Earl of Zetland is the patron. The present church is built near the site of the old parish church which stood a few yards S. [South] West from the new church, nearly in the Centre of the Grave Yard as pointed out by the Revd. [Reverend] R. F. Fisher |
