018 | [situation] Near the centre of of the Parish of Kilconquhar. Falfield is a large and elegant dwelling house of recent erection, with large garden and parks attached. Eastward from the house is the farm steading, large and commodious. Both steading and house are occupied by the proprietor, Bethune James Walker Esq. Lately there were found in one of the parks, the flint head of an arrow in good preservation, also a massive silver ring, and when digging the foundation of the steading a cannon ball weighing 48 lbs [pounds] was turned up. |
